"Going Out Isn't Just About Relationships, It's An Event"

Thank God it's Spring and we are now in the official countdown to Summer! Summer means that we can ditch our lovely boots for flip flops and sandals as we strip down to tank tops and more. Nothing is better than visiting your favorite outdoor cafe with a gelato, panini and some other cold beverages - these are the first things that I think about when thoughts of Summer in NYC come to mind. Of course, there are others - shopping, hanging out in Central Park, roof top lounges and parties. All of these are great solo, with your friends and of course someone a little more special.
For those of you that may not know me, I'm Kimmie Smith, a NY Metro Girl for Major League Soccer's NY Metro Stars that plays at Giant Stadium and I am the founder/fashion designer of Kitten by Sikara Designs Group which creates resort inspired activewear embellished with Swarovski Crystals. I am super siked about joining the Big Apple Style family. I have a love for fashion and entertainment and of course NYC so joining these items together is a treat and one that I'm not guilty about sharing. In the midst of spreading my love for all that is embellished, planning fashion shows and making sure that we are living in a world that's more 'nuvo glam' , I know a thing or two about relationships - from where they begin to when sometimes they fall short of expectations. It's not about trashing anyone out but about understanding where you guys are coming from and to see what can be learned from the situation. The summer is no better time then to start this column - after a long time indoors fighting severe cabin fever, everyone wants to come out.
I will not only look at how to stay together and read the signs of one another but also some great hot spots that you should keep in mind when you are out and about from - bars/lounges, restaurants, bookstores, festivals and more. If you have never considered these places or others as date ideas or places to scope others out, then you will definitely have a resource. So, regardless of whether you are single, happily with friends, friends with benefits, dangerously in love with your honey or newly married - you are bound to find information here that you will be able to use at some point.
